Angola’s national oil company, Sonangol, has awarded the Construction Contract of the Gasoline Production Unit of the Luanda Refinery to Kinetics Technology.
Making the announcement during the first day of the inaugural Angola Oil & Gas conference and exhibition hosted by Africa Oil & Power on Tuesday, Sonangol CEO, Engr. Sebastião Pai Querido Gasper Martin said this move would see an increase in the country’s supply capacity and reduce imports while multiplying the country’s fuel capacity four times.
Construction on the Gasoline Production Unit will also contribute to the government’s goal to increase local content implementation, create 600 long-term job opportunities and over 1,000 jobs during the construction phase.
This project is a result of a corporation agreement signed between Sonangol and Eni.
