Speaking at a conference in Australia, Woodside’s Business Manager for Senegal Field Development Jamie Stewart said that the SNE oilfield offshore Senegal is expected to reach FID in 2019.
SNE will be developed through a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility and subsea infrastructure that will include 26 subsea wells. The project is set to begin the front-end engineering design process at the end of this year, with first production targeted for 2022.
Australia’s Woodside currently holds 35 percent interest in the Rufisque, Sangomar and Sangomar Deep joint venture. Partners on the SNE deepwater field are Cairn Energy, FAR Limited and PETROSEN.
The project will be Senegal’s first oil development, with phase one commercializing total recoverable oil of 240 million barrels.
Senegal’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy H.E. Mansour Elimane Kane will speak at the Africa Oil & Power 2018 conference in Cape Town on September. Register here for the conference.
