Rome-based energy solutions company, RES4Africa Foundation and climate technologies developer, Cluster Solaire have signed a Letter of Intent to formalize their commitment to collaborate on the improvement of renewable energy solutions in Morocco.
The two organizations will cooperate in the development and incentivization of private and public investments in the renewable energy sector in the north-African country. The foundations will also promote the expansion of local expertise in Morocco and infrastructure to support a just energy transition.
The signatories have committed to advancing their collaboration in creating technological advancements and improving institutional policies to promote clean energy solutions. Joint studies will be conducted to decentralize Morocco’s electrification and develop green hydrogen, grid access and the transition and integration of renewable energy into the country’s power network.
Committed to the creation of an environment for renewable energy investments in Africa, RES4Africa’s secretary-general, Robert Vigotti said of the cooperation, “As key driver of the whole continent’s energy sector, strong partnerships with local stakeholders like Cluster Solaire are fundamental to pursue RES4Africa’s mission of creating an enabling environment for Africa’s just energy transition.”
Fatima Zahra El Khalifa, executive director of Cluster Solaire said, “Today, Cluster Solaire plays a catalytic role for the development of a competitive industrial sector in the renewable energies and green technologies sector in Morocco.”
The collaboration will develop a consortium of partners whose aim is for the just renewable energy transition in Morocco.
