Nigeria and South Sudan to cooperate on economic development

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, and Nhial Deng Nhial, South Sudan’s Minister of Regional Affairs, signed cooperation agreements on oil and gas, trade, education, health and culture in Abuja on Thursday.
Representing Nigeria, Minister Onyeama said the country had always been committed to the peace and stability of South Sudan since its inception, noting that Nigeria would continue to support the country until permanent peace is achieved.
“We want to institutionalize our commitment and support to your country and we are signing a cooperation agreement, which we hope will be a framework that will enhance our deep relations,” said minister Onyeama, adding that the agreement would be profitable for both countries.
On the collaboration, the minister said Nigeria wants peace and stability to reign in South Sudan.
