Imagining the Africa of the future 1

GTR Africa returns to Cape Town on March 11-12, 2020 for the definitive event in African trade and infrastructure finance, set to welcome over 400 delegates all keen to discuss the unrivalled business opportunities found on the continent.

2020’s instalment comes to you with a renewed tone of optimism and positivity, reflecting the many exciting opportunities available across Sub-Saharan Africa. Rather than reflecting on shortcomings and accusations of pessimism, the programme will adopt a positive and proactive approach to addressing the many challenges faced, with extra emphasis on problem-solving and what more needs to be done to achieve a future ‘trade utopia’.

“We’re hugely excited and positive about this year’s event in Cape Town, which we feel confident will be our biggest and best yet,” said Peter Gubbins, CEO of Global Trade Review (GTR). “Having built up our Africa footprint across markets as diverse as Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, Mauritius and Ghana we feel in an unrivalled position to help guide and bring companies and financiers together in a spirit of collaboration and look forward to doing this once again in the beautiful setting of Cape Town.”

Keynote speakers across the two days include a number of prominent African experts; Nastassia Arendse (conference chair) is an established television anchor at SABC who represents a new breed of journalists that have managed to break the mould of the profession, whilst keynote speaker Nnamdi Oranye is a famed author, writer for CNBC Africa and technologist named as one of the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent. They will be joined by Tunde Kehinde, a seasoned emerging markets entrepreneur known to many as the ‘The Jeff Bezos of Africa’, who will address what needs to be done to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create wealth.

GTR Africa will once again enjoy unrivalled support from the world’s leading financial institutions as well as a wide range of local government organisations and public bodies, including the South African Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the International Trade and Forfaiting Association and the UK Department for International Trade (DIT), to name just a few.

Press registration for this event is now open. Any members of the media interested in attending this event should contact Tanya Naysmith, Marketing Assistant at or +44(0)20 8772 3036. For more information, visit the GTR Africa 2020 event page here.
