Responsible for formulating and monitoring the President’s policies on activities in the geological, mineral, oil, gas, and biofuels exploration and production space, the MIREMPET building was constructed with funding from Sonangol.
Meanwhile, Sonangol hosted a meeting on the same day with the international association, the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO), at Luanda’s InterContinental Hotel, during which the NOC received the leaders of its counterparts from approximately 20 countries and was attended by H.E. Minister Diamantino; APPO Secretary General, Omar Ibrahim; and Angola’s Secretary of State for Petroleum, José Barroso.
The tour of MIREMPET’s new offices comes ahead of the Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) 2022 Conference and Exhibition, taking place in Luanda on 29-30 November and 1 December, under the auspices of H.E. Minister Azevedo, and in partnership with the country’s national concessionaire, the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels; AIDAC; and the African Energy Chamber.
AOG 2022 serves as Angola’s premier oil and gas industry platform for the country to expand and promote the exploration and production of its natural resources while spurring investment and dealmaking, facilitating cooperation and collaboration amongst multiple sectors, and creating an enabling environment for business and economic diversification.
