Angola’s national oil company, Sonangol, has signed an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract with Odebrecht Engineering and Construction and DAR Angola to construct a marine terminal with a 580 000m3 storage capacity for petroleum-based products, which will be located in Barra do Dande, Bengo province. Angolan civil engineering company SOAPRO will provide project inspection and environmental impact studies.

The marine terminal will serve as the central platform for storing strategic petroleum-based product reserves and will play a key role in distributing petroleum-based products in the southern African region.

Once operational, the terminal – which is scheduled for completion toward the third quarter of 2022 – is expected to significantly improve Angola’s fuel distribution needs and create safer and cost-efficient regional distribution options.

In a bid to help attract investment into Angola’s energy industry, Energy Capital & Power will host the second edition of Angola Oil and Gas (AOG) 2021 conference in September 9-10 – an exclusive, transformative, and sector-advancing platform for networking, deal-making, and investment partnerships that will drive Angola’s energy sector growth and success – under the auspices of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas.
